These photos and postcards have been ‘damaged’ or altered - sometimes accidentally, sometimes with purpose. The tiny marks or additions become catasprophic as their scale is magnified by the photographic image they are now part of. They are ‘only just’ collages - objects removed from the everyday and rescued from further damage. The work was made at the time of the iraq war and refer to war on both a global scale and the consequences and feelings of war at a more intimate level.
The work was shown as part of ‘Begining, Middle and End’ at g39, Cardiff and ‘Half Belief’ at Howard Gardens Gallery.
