Images made from slides taken by my grandad, Harold Philips in the 1960s-70s on his holidays. The places he visited have since changed IRL and in our imagination. The original slide film was re-assembled (in sandwiched pairs) to create a new ‘tour’, projected on a 35mm looping carousel in a slow animation. Horizons were matched with the gallery floor level, creating a theatrical experience of ‘being there’. The work was originally shown at Howard Gardens Gallery, Cardiff.
