Images assembled from slides taken by my grandad, Harold Philips in the 70s on his holidays. The places he visited have since changed IRL and in our imagination. The original slide film was re-assembled (in sandwiched pairs) to create a new ‘tour’, projected on a 35mm looping carousel in a slow animation. Horizons were matched to the gallery floor level, creating a theatrical experience of ‘being there’. The work was originally shown at Howard Gardens Gallery, Cardiff.
